Personal Import Service
At Origin, we are able to help import most cars from Japan specifically to order, working with two different agents in Japan. From Kei Cars to sports cars, to trucks and MPVs we can source both Japanese and European models from auctions, dealers, and online auctions all across Japan.
We understand that many people are nervous about importing a vehicle, it’s a lot of money to spend on something you’ve never seen! We aim to help you understand the process, as well as getting your requirements, budget and expectations in place.
Importing: The Process
Our personal import service makes buying Japanese cars and parts easier than ever.
Sourcing
On instruction by you, we will search Japanese auctions, dealers and online auctions using dealer level software in Japan which the public don’t have access to. Once we find a car you are interested in, we can price it all in, to the UK and give you a breakdown of payments. Now we book an inspection for a better look!
INSPECTION
A very important part of the process, we inspect all our personal imports before bidding. This enables us to get a much better idea of condition before we commit any money. We send you these pictures, pre bid, to ensure you are happy before working out a budget and placing a bid on your behalf.
SHIPPING
Once your car has been secured, payment for the Japan costs will be due. Once paid our agent in Japan organises collecting the car from the vendor and it’s transported to their yards where it is again photographed and inspected. Our agent then organises insured shipping to the UK.
Prep
Once your vehicle arrives in the UK, we pick it up from the port and safely transport it, fully insured, to our premises in Newport. Here, we will MOT (or IVA if needed) it, register it, service it, detail it and carry out any other pre agreed bits you require. Once complete, we can deliver to you, or you can pick the vehicle up
