I’m only giving 5 stars because that’s the maximum allowed — otherwise I’d give more. Everything with Origin Japan Ltd has been exactly as I hoped. Importing a car from Japan is a no-brainer compared to buying in the UK in terms of both price and quality, as long as you don’t mind waiting for it to arrive and be prepared for UK roads. Of course, the biggest concern with importing is trust — you pay the full price upfront and you don’t even see the car in person until months later. That’s why, after doing my online research, I decided to meet Adam in person before committing. The moment you meet him, you immediately realise he’s a genuinely honest and friendly chap. I knew straight away he was someone I could trust with my money. From there, he was incredibly helpful and knowledgeable about the Japanese auctions, and very patient with my indecisiveness (lol). Eventually, with his guidance, I managed to secure my dream car — an immaculate, sub-10k-mile Toyota FJ cruiser that was at least £1.5k cheaper than anything comparable from a UK dealer. Once the car arrived and was prepared for UK roads, you’d think Adam’s job would be finished, but he kept going above and beyond. He ordered a roof rack and radio for me and fitted them. I was referred to Adam at Origin Japan Ltd, after we started our hunt for a new family car. From the offset; Adam was fantastic and thorough - asking us what car and spec we were looking for (age and mileage were especially important). This was my first time purchasing a vehicle in this way, so was understandably nervous, but Adam’s knowledge and frequent communication immediately made me feel calm and confident that my money was in the right place. After just a few weeks, Adam had found a few cars that fitted our checklist of requirements, so we placed a bid after his agent carried out an inspection and sent us more photos….unfortunately we bid too low and missed out but it wasn’t meant to be. Fortunately, Adam sourced another car matching our requirements - this time the bid was successful and we won our 2012 Toyota Vellfire G Z edition with only 28000km on the clock! Adam kept in contact constantly with Videos and photos during and after the purchase. Once the vehicle was booked onto the ship, we also got the tracking details so we could see the vehicles progress from the docks in Japan all the way through to the UK. Adam is clear and concise about the fees and costs along the way, nothing is hidden. Once the car arrived in the UK, Adam was quick in getting the MOT booked, along with getting appropriate paperwork sent off, whilst prepping the car, carrying out a service and having it detailed. We travelled from Suffolk to collect the car and Adam was kind enough to collect us from the Train Station - the weather wasn't on our side, so Adam left our car tucked up in the workshop and collected us in another car so ours wasn't spoilt by the rain, which was incredibly thoughtful and appreciated. Every step of the process was made smoother by Adam’s attention to detail and he was happy to answer any questions we had around the process and/or the vehicle itself and timescales. Adam is a lovely guy, has a great knowledge and love for Japanese cars (with some lovely other examples awaiting their new owners) and a fantastic eye for detail. He was truly a pleasure from the offset right to the very end and we are hugely grateful for all his effort. If I'm ever in the position to import another vehicle I wouldn’t hesitate to use Adam at Origin Japan and would highly recommend for both import vehicles and parts.Load more
